So, be sure to gather and participate in the cultural events of each parish as they showcase the stuff of which they are made.
We are a small island with only eleven parishes but know that there are unique features to each parish. Whether it is the landscape, the language, the way they do things, cook their food, etc. Don’t for one moment think that Barbados is one solid cultural entity. Have you ever heard how some words are pronounced by those bred and born in St. Philip, or St. Lucy, St. Andrew, or even Christ Church? Yes, as Bajans we are bound by the heart beat of this land but there are some special aspects of our Bajan-ness that brings true flavour to our cultural experience as a whole!
